The Big News

Picture
When I posted a teaser post saying there was big news coming soon...little did I know the frenzy it would create of speculation! Everything you can imagine! It turned into a social media guessing game and even people I had not connected with for some time wanted in on the news!
I launched my new website the morning of the Thankful Fairy Garden Workshop...for me, it was a big step! I’m not really sure how all this has happened just since March! All I know is my friend Robin inspired me by sharing her own fairy garden and I thought I’d try it! And now there is a website and two workshops in the books and I couldn’t be more excited!
There were 10 lovely ladies at the last workshop and what fun we had! Even those who claimed to not have a creative bone in their body created beautiful gardens! So much love and joy shared that morning not only playing in the dirt, but as I stood back watching new friendships come to life and best friends side by side, I was seriously overwhelmed!
There was a blog I recently read that referenced how important women’s sense of community was back in the days when women went down to the river to wash clothes together. And those hours spent chatting and sharing and supporting each other slowly slipped away with the invention of the washer. The women no longer gathered at the river and spent less and less time together and something began to be missing.
I don’t really know what my ultimate purpose might be with this business of fairies....but I do know for sure that last Sunday morning in the sanctuary of our backyard, 11 women and one sweet hubby experienced a beautiful example of love and community.

Reflections of the Spooky Fairy Garden Workshop

Picture

The first workshop was designed for kids of all ages to create a Spooky Halloween themed garden! I was completely overwhelmed with emotion when these cuties gathered in my backyard and I saw their imaginations open up to make their very own gardens! Each one was unique and special and the joy that filled my home was incredible!

Fairies bring Joy!

Picture

Fairies bring Joy! So it was easy to fall in love with making fairy gardens! By no means do I have a "green thumb" ~ I have quite the opposite in fact! But I love mixing plants and flowers together along with fairiers or gnomes and other cute creatures to create gardens that celebrate occasions, seasons, and even remembrance gardens. Each of my gardens has a signature butterfly in memory of my own son Tanner who flitters by on the wings of sweet butterflies almost everywhere I go! Makes my heart happy!
I call this my dirt therapy! My happy place is right in my backyard sanctuary with my hands in the dirt creating something beautiful, meaningful, and that spreads light and joy!
